Galations 2:20 states “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

This is not an easy concept to grasp for a new believer and the longer I am a Christian, the more I desire to fully understand it. In all actuality, I have a basic understanding of it but what I really want is to realize it, to feel it, to experience it and fully accept that Jesus Christ lives in me. And I believe that is the key phrase. “…what I really want is to …  fully accept that Jesus Christ lives in me.”

I haven’t fully accepted that Christ lives in be because I haven’t given up my right to my own life. I still hold on to it like a little kid holds on to one toy when his mother is giving him a better one. In my mind I know that what God wants for me is FAR BETTER than what I want for myself. But, in my heart, I still want to control my own path and destiny.

Why, if I know that the second thing is better, do I still hold on to the first thing? Pride. The simple answer is pride. I am, and have always been, a prideful person.

I pray that the Lord would see fit to teach me how to live in the knowledge of His love and power in my life, that He would show me what it truly means to trust Him, that He would show me how to relinquish control over my life and give it to Him.

Here in Southern California we’re having a rainy Christmas morning. But that doesn’t bother me. Unlike most Southern Californians, I actually like the rain. I love the peacefulness of the constant noise of the rain falling on the roof and it hitting the window awnings of our house.

Rain is beautiful and necessary. It provides the water to fill our aquafers and soak our hills so that we don’t have a terrible fire season like we did this year. Rain waters our lawns, trees and shrubs for free. Rain cleanses the impurities from our air and creates beautiful vistas. After a good rain, downtown Los Angeles is easily viewable from the top of the hill at the I10 and Via Verde in Covina, California. I love the views after a good rain.  =)

So on this day on which we celebrate the birth of our Lord, I want to take time to thank Him for the rain, this life that I live, the roof over my head, and and my wife who is asleep in the other room. Jesus, it all belongs to you and you let me use it. Thank you!

May the God that we serve bless your soul today.

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah!!!

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to my Jewish friends, I extend my warmest  Chanukah greetings. The God that our two faiths serve is the true God and I want to include both Jewish and Christian faiths in this special time of year. God is Good!

This is not my first Christian blog. I used to have another one called “Faith to Speak”. It was hosted on blogger and I enjoyed it right up until the post about Hurricane Katrina. That was a hard one for me because I believed that it was just a “birthing pain” as is spoken of in the scriptures but as I prayed over the post, God instructed me to change what I had written. It was most definitely a judgment on the U.S. and it prevented a gay pride march that was to happen just days later.

Well, the parade never happened but I did post my did make it up onto the internet. After that I took a break from posting because I needed to think and reflect on what had just happened in my brain. Unfortunately I never got to post another entry to my blog because there was an error in blogger around that time and Google said that it was fixed but I was never able to post again. I have though of many reasons for it but in the end I just know that it happened, not why it happened.

I still have some of those first posts but nothing about the Hurricane Katrina post. To the best of my knowledge, it has been lost forever. Pity. I would have liked to read it one last time.

From time to time, I may repost some of the original posts or maybe just some of the points, but with an updated understanding of God, Jesus and the scriptures. I enjoy blogging and I hope to inspire more people (and myself) to bravely speak their faith.

God Bless!
